Credentials & Transit Tokens
A credential is a contactless card identified only by a one-way hash. The transit vendor identifies and aggregates by credential; Cybersource creates and manages the transit token (transient token + instrument identifier + payment instrument) that represents the card in payment operations.
Transit token creation
Cybersource responsibility. Endpoint POST /tms/v2/taps (Token Management Service). Returns 202 with no body; the transient token, instrument identifier and payment instrument are produced asynchronously. Only used in the Tokenized Transit solution model. Sandbox is configured — a real signed call will be attempted.
